Malathi Basappa (born 1950) is an Indian model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Bharat Sundari 1972. She represented India at Miss World 1972 and was crowned 4th Runner Up there. [1] [2]

Early life and career

Malathi was born in Mysore, India. She is a political honours graduate and was a national level basketball player. She was also a Bharatnatyam dancer and model. She participated in Bharat Sundari 1972 contest.[ citation needed] In 1972 she won India's Bharat Sundari 1972. Subsequently, represented India at Miss World 1972 where she finished as the 4th runner up.[ citation needed]
