Makarovka (Russian: Макаровка) is a rural locality ( Russian: село, lit. 'village') and the administrative center of Makarovsky Selsoviet Rural Settlement, Kurchatovsky District, Kursk Oblast, Russia. Population: 615 ( 2010 Russian census); [2] 632 ( 2002 Census); [6]
The village is located on the Seym River and its tributary, the Tereblya, 58 km from the Russia–Ukraine border, 44 km west of Kursk, 7 km north-west of the district center – the town Kurchatov. [7]
Makarovka has a warm-summer humid continental climate (Dfb in the Köppen climate classification).

Makarovka is located 37 km from the federal route M-2 Crimea Highway, 6 km from the road of regional importance 38K-017 ( Kursk – Lgov – Rylsk – border with Ukraine), 2 km from the road of intermunicipal significance 38H-362 (38K-017 – Nikolayevka – Shirkovo), on the roads 38H-366 (38N-362 – Makarovka – Lgov) and 38H-752 (38N-366 – sanatoriums in the village of Makarovka), [8] 6 km from the nearest railway station Lukashevka [9] (railway line Lgov I — Kursk).
