Mahmudabad ( Persian: محموداباد) [a] is a village in, and the capital of, Garamduz-e Sharqi Rural District of Garamduz District, Khoda Afarin County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. [3]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,058 in 215 households, when it was in the former Garamduz Rural District of Khoda Afarin District, Kaleybar County. [4] The following census in 2011 counted 1,074 people in 255 households, [5] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Khoda Afarin County. [3] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,138 people in 326 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district. [2]
