Luis Hasa (born 6 January 2004) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Serie C club Juventus Next Gen.
Hasa represented Italy national team at youth levels. He was part of Italy's squad at the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, and was named Player of the Tournament.
Hasa was born in Sora, Lazio, in the province of Frosinone, to Albanian parents, Arbeni and Naiada Hasa. [4] His eldest brother, Alessio, started playing football next to the pitch at San Domenico Savio, where he also went as soon as he started taking his first steps. [4]
Due to his parents' heritage, he also has Albanian citizenship. [5]
His talent was discovered at the age of seven, in a training session with the Pulcini of San Domenico Savio, a team that has its home in Asti, [6] by football scout Marko Burbelo. [4] Burbelo contacted Juventus directly, which led Hasa to joining the Juventus youth system. [4]
Hasa has played for Juventus at various youth levels. In the 2021–22 Campionato Primavera 1 season, he played for Juventus U19 and has made 14 appereances and scored 2 goals. In the following season, he scored 7 goals in 29 appearances. [2]
On 17 December 2022, he was included in the Juventus Next Gen squad in the match against Virtus Verona in the 2022–23 Serie C season, but did not make it onto the pitch. [2]
On 12 August 2023, he was brought in by Massimiliano Allegri to join the Juventus first-team in a pre-season friendly in a 0–0 draw against Atalanta. He entered the field as a substitute in the second half. [7]
Hasa is eligible to play for his country of birth, Italy, and Albania, as his both parents are Albanian. [4]
He is a youth international for Italy. [4]
In June 2023, he was included in the Italy under-19 squad for the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Malta, [8] where the Azzurrini eventually won their second continental title. [9] [10] He was named Player of the Tournament. [11] He scored a crucial equaliser in the final Group A game against Poland which took Italy through as runners-up. [11] In the final, Hasa created yet another goal with a pinpoint left-footed cross which Michael Kayode headed in for the game's key moment. [11]
