Lukhovitsky District ( Russian: Лухови́цкий райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [2] district ( raion), one of the thirty-six districts in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,340.52 square kilometers (517.58 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the town of Lukhovitsy. [1] Population: 58,802 ( 2010 Census); [3] 63,235 ( 2002 Census); [7] 65,534 ( 1989 Soviet census). [8] The population of Lukhovitsy accounts for 50.8% of the district's total population. [3]
