Luciano Javier Cabral Melgarejo (born April 26, 1995) is a footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Chilean Primera División side Coquimbo Unido. Born in Argentina, he is a former youth international for Chile.
He returned to professional football for the 2023 season, after signing with Coquimbo Unido in the Chilean Primera División. [1]
Cabral represented Argentina at under-20 level in the 2014 COTIF Tournament. [2]
In 2015, he represented Chile at under-20 level in the South American Championship. [3]
At senior level, he was included in the preliminary squad for the 2024 Copa América. [4]
He naturalized Chilean since his grandfather was born in Chile. [5]
In June 2018, he was given a 9+1⁄2 years prison sentence due to he was linked along with his father to a homicide occurred in January 2017 in Mendoza, Argentina. [6] Due to his good behavior, he has worked as an experience teller for the Club Sportivo El Porvenir [7] from San Rafael at the same time he performs as a player. [8] In September 2022, he became on parole. [9]
