Leah Elizabeth Scarpelli (born September 18, 2001) is an American soccer player who plays as a defender or midfielder for Brooklyn FC in the USL Super League.

Early life and amateur career

Scarpelli is a native of Brick Township, New Jersey. [1] She started playing soccer at the age of four and played prep soccer at Brick Memorial High School in her hometown. [2]

Scarpelli played college soccer at Pennsylvania State University and Florida Gulf Coast University, where she was regarded as one of the soccer team's most important players. [3]

Club career

Scarpelli played for Portuguese side Sporting. [4]

Scarpelli joined Brooklyn FC on June 28, 2024, ahead of the inaugural USL Super League season. [5]

International career

Scarpelli was called-up to the United States national under-17 team in 2017. [6]

Style of play

Scarpelli has been described as "brings versatility... having grown up playing central midfield and left midfield before eventually falling into a strong centre-back role". [7]

Personal life
