Kitauwa (北宇和郡, Kitauwa-gun) is a
district located in
Ehime Prefecture,
Japan. As of 2004, the district has an estimated
population of 17,299. The total area is 340.37 km2.
Due to 1878 land reforms, the district was founded when it broke off from the
