Kita-Hosono Station is served by the Ōito Line and is 23.8 kilometers from the terminus of the line at Matsumoto Station. [1]
The station consists of one ground-level side platform serving a single bi-directional track. The station is unattended. [1]
The station opened on 28 October 1930 as Okame-mae Station (おかめ前駅). It was renamed to its present name on 1 June 1937. [1] With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR East.
