Kijewo [kiˈjɛvɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Środa Wielkopolska, within Środa Wielkopolska County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. [1] It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south of Środa Wielkopolska and 34 km (21 mi) south-east of the regional capital Poznań.
During the German occupation of Poland ( World War II), on September 17, 1939, the Gestapo murdered 21 Poles from the neighbouring town of Środa Wielkopolska in the village. [2]
In 2017 and 2018 parts of the village were included within the town limits of Środa Wielkopolska. [3] [4]
