Kateh Sar-e Khomam Rural District ( Persian: دهستان كتهسر خمام) [3] is in the Central District of Khomam County, Gilan province, in Iran. [4] Its capital is the village of Kateh Sar. [5]
At the 2006 census, its population (as a part of the former Khomam District of Rasht County) was 11,757 in 3,416 households. [6] There were 11,406 inhabitants in 3,778 households at the following census of 2011. [7] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 10,463 in 3,687 households. The most populous of its 12 villages was Kalachah, with 1,926 people. [2]
In August 2019, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Khomam County and divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Khomam as its capital and only city. [4]
