The Kabul Premier League, [1] [2] [3] also known as Kabul City League, [4] was the first domestic football club league in Afghanistan. [4] It was established in 1946, comprising 12 clubs. Other regional or city leagues existed in the 1970s in Herat, Kandahar and Mazar-i-Sharif. [4] The main venue was the Ghazi Stadium in Kabul, and games were held on different days due to lack of stadiums. It was replaced by the Afghan Premier League. [4]
