Jordan Mackenzie Faria (born June 13, 2000) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays for Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League.

Early life

Faria began playing youth soccer at age five with Brampton Youth SC. [2] In January 2012, he joined the Toronto FC Academy. [3]

Club career

From 2016 to 2018, Faria played with Toronto FC III in League1 Ontario. [4] [5]

In 2018, he began playing with Toronto FC II in the USL on an academy contract. [3] On April 7, 2018, he made his debut against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. [6] He scored his first professional goal on May 19, 2018 against the Charlotte Independence. [3] In July 2018, he officially signed his first professional contract with Toronto FC II. [3] [7] On September 6, 2019, he scored a free kick goal which earned USL League One Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week honours. [8]

In June 2021, Faria joined Canadian Premier League side York United. [9] He scored his first goal for the club on October 17, 2021 in a 1-1 draw against FC Edmonton. [10] In December 2021, York announced they had declined Faria's contract option for the 2022 season. [11]

In April 2022, he signed with Finnish club MuSa in the Kakkonen, after going on trial with the club in March. [12] [13] On July 9, 2022, he scored a brace against SalPa in a 4-1 victory. [14]

Faria with Toronto FC II in 2023

In March 2023, he returned to Toronto FC II, now in MLS Next Pro. [15] [16] On May 7, 2023, he scored a brace in a 3-0 victory over FC Cincinnati 2, to lead the team to their first victory of the season. [17] On May 20, 2023, he signed a short-term loan with the Toronto FC first team, ahead of their match against Austin FC, [18] making his debut in the match, coming on as a substitute for Italian designated player Federico Bernardeschi in the 67th minute. [19]

In December 2023, Faria returned to the Canadian Premier League, signing with Valour FC for the 2024 season. [20] [21]

International career

In October 2014, Faria made his debut in the Canada national team program, attending a U15 identification camp. [1] In August 2015, he was named to the U15 squad for the U15 Torneo Internacional. [1] He was later named to the Canada U17 for the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. [1] In 2017, Jordan Faria was a runner-up for the Canadian U17 Player of the Year award. [22]
