John Warren Underwood (November 25, 1934 – April 12, 2023) was an American sportswriter who spent his career with Sports Illustrated magazine. [1]

He his best known for ghoswriting with Baseball Hall of Fame slugger Ted Williams, most notably The Science of Hitting. [2]
