The city's largest annual food drive kicked off at FDNY Engine Co. 7 in Tribeca, with Chief of Department John Sudnik noting that all of the city's firehouses will serve as donation points. The effort will continue through Jan. 17 in hopes of helping the 1.2 million needy New Yorkers who have trouble putting food on the table every day.
