John Fredric G. Wade (born December 4, 1968) [1] is a United States Navy vice admiral who has served as commander of the United States Third Fleet since June 7, 2024. [2] He most recently served as the commander of Joint Task Force - Red Hill from 2022 to 2024. [3] [4] He previously served as the director of operations of the United States Indo-Pacific Command from 2020 to 2022. [5] [6] [7] [8]
Wade graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1990 with a B.S. degree in economics. He later earned a master's degree in information systems technology from the Naval Postgraduate School and a second master's degree in national security strategy from the National War College. [5]
In May 2024, Wade was nominated for assignment as commander of the United States Third Fleet. [9]
