Air Marshal Sir John Alexander Baird, KBE, CStJ, DL, FRAeS, FRCPE (25 July 1937 – 12 November 2020) was a British physician and a retired Royal Air Force medical officer who served as Surgeon-General of the British Armed Forces from 1997 to 2000. [1] [2] [3]

Baird was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) in the 1999 Birthday Honours. [4] He was appointed Commander of the Order of St John [5] (CStJ) in 1997
