Jeff Gordon is an American physician and politician from the state of Connecticut. A member of the Republican Party, he has been a member of the Connecticut State Senate representing the 35th District since 2023.
Gordon is a hematologist- oncologist. [1] He is a former president of the Connecticut State Medical Society. [2] [3] He formerly was a member of the Town of Woodstock Planning & Zoning Commission. [4]
Gordon was elected as a Republican to the state Senate in November 2022 from Connecticut's 35th State Senate district; his district covers Ashford, Chaplin, Coventry, Eastford, Ellington, Hampton, Stafford, Thompson, Tolland, Union, Vernon, Willington, and Woodstock. [3]
He took office in January 2023. [3] In the state Senate, Gordon opposed proposed legislation in 2023 to phase out conventional gas-powered cars, and to mandate that all new car sales in Connecticut be electric vehicles by 2035. He argued that EV infrastructure was too expensive. [5]
