Burke was born in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended Morningside College and the University of Iowa. [2]

Burke was a real estate salesman. [3]

Burke served in the Iowa House of Representatives [1] from 1965 to 1967. [4]

Burke died [5] on March 25, 1983, [4] at the age of 51.
