Jagdish Gandhi (born Jagdish Agrawal; [5] 10 November 1936 – 22 January 2024) was an Indian politician and educationist [6] who founded the City Montessori School [7] [8] with his wife Bharti Gandhi. [9] [10] [11] [12] He served as an independent member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Sikandra Rao constituency from 1969 to 1974. [13] [6] [14] [15]
Gandhi was born to Phool Chand Agarwal and Bansmati Devi on 10 November 1936, in Barsauli Village, Sikandra Rao, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He matriculated from G. S. College in Aligarh and passed his intermediate exam from Champa Agarwal College in Mathura. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lucknow University. [15] [3] [6]
Dr. Gandhi died from complications of a heart attack on 22 January 2024 in Medanta Hospital, Lucknow at the age of 87. [16] [17]
