Iskra (Russian: Искра) is a rural locality (a settlement) in Shchetinsky Selsoviet Rural Settlement, Kursky District, Kursk Oblast, Russia. Population: 1,794 ( 2010 Russian census); [2] 1,359 ( 2002 Census); [8]
The settlement is located on the Tuskar River (a right tributary of the Seym), 98 km from the Russia–Ukraine border, at the northern border of the district center – the town Kursk, 3.5 km from the selsoviet center – Shchetinka. [9]
There are the following streets in the locality: Dorozhnaya, Pervomayskaya and Shkolnaya (72 houses). [9]
Iskra has a warm-summer humid continental climate (Dfb in the Köppen climate classification).

Iskra is located 4.5 km from the federal route M-2 Crimea Highway (a part of the European route E105), on the roads of intermunicipal significance 38H-379 (Kursk – Iskra) and 38H-386 (38N-379 – Shuklinka), [10] 3.5 km from the railway junction 530 km [11] (railway line Oryol – Kursk).
The rural locality is situated 9.5 km from Kursk Vostochny Airport, 131 km from Belgorod International Airport and 209 km from Voronezh Peter the Great Airport.
