Inspector Jamshed is an upcoming Pakistani epic action crime film based on the Inspector Jamshed series ( crime novels, featuring a detective) was written by Pakistani author Ishtiaq Ahmad. He was a Pakistani fiction writer born in Heryana, India famous for his spy and detective novels in the Urdu language, particularly the Inspector Jamshed series. He started his career by writing short stories for children and then wrote his first novel in 1972. He was at his peak of popularity in the 80s when paper printed novels were most read. He sold more than 50 million copies of nearly 800 spy and detective novels during his writing career. The most famous series are Inspector Jamshed, Shoki Brothers and Inspector Kamran Mirza. The film is directed by Fahd Nur, produced by Muhammad Adnan Butt and written by Eric Berg and Atif Siddique and it features a remarkable cast Omair Rana, Asif Raza Mir, Ahad Raza Mir, Faran Tahir, Jad Hadid, Daria, Casey Shannon, Anoushay Abbasi, Rik Aby, Ravel Imran, Ahmed Harkous, Aline Harkous, Eri Shuka, Pahal Samyani and Orli Shuka. In the film Inspector Jamshed solves crimes with the help of his three children.

The first novel “The Secret Packet”, in the Inspector Jamshaid series by Ishtiaq Ahmad was published in 1972. “Imran’s Return” [1] becomes his last novel as he passes away in Nov 2015. Dot Republic Media signs up a worldwide deal for all Publishing Rights of the IJ series. After that COVID hits and slows downs everything but the hunt for global creative think tank continues. Creators 1 signs up Eric Berg for screen playing of the film. The script gets approval by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission and the crew from more than 13 countries joins in.

A parcel housing a profoundly classified secret becomes the epicenter of a high-stakes thriller.

Cast

  • Omair Rana as Inspector Jamhsed, is the protagonist of the Franchise. He is the most famous Inspector of the Secret Police force. None of his cases remain unsolved. In any situation, IJ remains calm and has a smile on his face. He has very strong observation skills and he scans the entire scene with one glance however uses that information where appropriate. He is someone who will listen to everyone, but when it comes to principles, he does not compromise at all and he is famous for that. In his personal life, Inspector Jamshed loves his family, is kind hearted, jokes around with his kids and wife, helps those in need. He is however, a workaholic who is always working even while on a holiday.
  • Asif Raza Mir as Khan Rehman, retired army officer. He is Inspector Jamshed's Childhood friend. He owns gold mines and is very rich with connections that always help when IJ needs a miracle to happen. He is the one who has engaged IJ in Abu Dhabi to unearth a series of events.
  • Ahad Raza Mir as Behzaad, a mythological underworld mastermind and archnemesis of Inspector Jamshed. With these two sides facing off – a well-trained, merciless dark force versus one family – the odds are definitely even.  
  • Faran Tahir as Zafar Iqbal Burki, the Diplomat who is working with consulates, is assisting IJ and Khan Rehman in stalling the international deals unless the case is solved.
  • Jad Hadid as Inspector Ikram is the friend and right hand of Inspector Jamshed, he is also always available to assist. Honest and Dutiful. He is also the encyclopedia of all criminals. He can give his life for Inspector Jamshed.
  • Daria as Dye, the second name to death, DYE is heading this particular project to capture the ‘packet’ and whatever is in it. DYE reports to an ‘unknown’ entity, while tracking the entire city and keeping everything in control. DYE also is a loyalist like Aun, and even more, the philosophy of the cult is represented by this character.
  • Casey Shannon as Skeeter, Late 30s, he never, ever had a hole in his sock whatsoever. Born in Labore by Irish parents. Both Diplomats and rotated in upper-embassy circuit. 
  • Anoushay Abbasi as Mrs. Jamshed, originally called Shakeela begum, is a happy housewife, who in time of need can deal with any kind of criminals. She is always worried about what her kids are eating, even when they are leaving in a hurry Mrs. IJ would quickly make something up to feed the kids. Her key weapons while dealing with enemies is usually hot water, red chillies or salt. However, she always gets really worried about her kids who are always engaged in cases. She keeps the kids grounded and is a key figure in their lives who cultures them and makes sure they enjoy life. From cooking to knitting to gardening to reading, Mrs. IJ is interested in everything related to her home.
  • Rik Aby as Professor Daud, A child prodigy... deep intellect. Terrible cook... does not eat right, but invented his own vitamins. A family friend to the Jamshed's for way too many years. The Jamshed children come to his lab to ‘hang-out’ He is credited as being one of the first to theorize that all intelligent behavior was the result of feedback mechanisms, that could possibly be simulated by machines and was an important early step towards the development of modern artificial intelligence.
  • Ravel Imran as Mehmood, he is the eldest son of Inspector Jamshed, Mehmood is always with his father in every case and is extremely intelligent and active/fast. He is never scared in situations, however, he is always hasty. Which is why Inspector Jamshed will always assign him something knowing Mehmood's nature.
  • Ahmed Harkous as Farooq, he is the middle child, he is intelligent however is lazy as well. He would keep delaying things until the last moment. He is also very funny, however he would always say things with a serious face while everyone around him would be laughing. He is also sarcastic along with humor. Farooq loves to climb trees and his special weapon is a laser gun that was gifted to him by Professor Daud, the laser freezes the object in front of it for 30 seconds. Farooq always uses his weapon if stuck in a bad situation.
  • Aline Harkous as Farzana, she is the youngest and hence her parent's pet. She is a born genius, and a problem solver and will give advice in her innocent voice. She loves to talk and would start speaking in every situation. Often while she is talking, she has reached the right conclusion but is oblivious to it until pointed out. Like her brothers, she is also very brave. Farzana is an avid book reader.
  • Eri Shuka as Aide, the inside person, who is the mover and shaker inside the consulate for the bigger power on the move. She understands who is behind the parchment, and to some extent why, however her façade remains as the aide in the consul looking after key movements.
  • Pahal Samyani as Shaista, she was the biological ‘daughter’ of a South American couple that died tragically.  Daud was the girls godfather and with no other relatives, Daud adopted her around the time when she was 13 years old. She warmly fell into her role with Daud... caring for him, worrying for him... she is a good kid. Like Daud, she is a child prodigy... deep intellect.
  • Orli Shuka as Ahmed, he is camera-ready, scientific celebrity and internationally recognized expert in ethnoarcheology (study of modern societies resembling extinct ones of archaeological interest, for archaeological purposes). He is currently employed to a private research facility on a five-year contract. His budget is considered secret and he is unaware about the depth and detail of the security surrounding him. Ahmed is a friend/ associate with Professor Daud.

Dot Republic Media maintains one of the largest market shares of South Asian content on digital. Serving roughly over 10B minutes every month, in 220 countries on 130 networks. This includes short/long format content, news and current affairs, sports, kids, entertainment and influencer content. DRM is the rights acquisition and distribution partner for IJ. In 2020 COVID hits that slows downs the production activities but the hunt for global creative think tank never stops. In 2021, CreatorsOne Studios, C1 signs up Eric Berg for screen playing of the film. CreatorsOne Studios is a turnkey content creation ecosystem which aims to change the Creative Economy in the Region. It was formed in 2018 and having offices in the US, Bahrain and UAE. C1 is headquartered at the twofour54 and is the Executive Producer of IJ.

Filming

The film was shot in Abu Bhabi along with its GCC partners twofour54 and National Media Council. Locations selected for the filming of Inspector Jamshed in Abu Dhabi were Al Ain Desert Learning Center, W, Abu Dhabi Heritage Museum, Al Bahr Towers and Burjeel Hospital

The film Cinematic Language was shot on ALEXA LF. The film equipment partner is GAMMA, which is the Middle East's first & biggest film equipment rental house since 1980 with operations in Lebanon (Beirut), UAE (Dubai), UAE (Abu Dhabi) & KSA (Riyadh).

Marketing

In 2018 a pitch promo was shot. In 2020, Dot Republic Media decided to announce the feature and released the Promo.
