Ikryaninsky District ( Russian: Икря́нинский райо́н; Kazakh: Икрян ауданы, Ikrıan aýdany) is an administrative [1] and municipal [6] district ( raion), one of the eleven in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,950 square kilometers (750 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Ikryanoye. [1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 47,759, with the population of Ikryanoye accounting for 21.0% of that number. [3]
The district was established on July 14, 1925. [2]
