In Greek mythology, Hipponoe ( Ancient Greek: Ἱππονόη Hipponoê means 'unruly as a mare' [1]) was the "rosy-armed" Nereid, [2] marine- nymph daughter of the ' Old Man of the Sea' Nereus and the Oceanid Doris. [3] Her name means or 'the temper of horses' (i.e. waves). [4]
