Héctor Lamadrid-Figueroa, born 1976, is a Mexican public health professional who is Chair of the Department of Perinatal Health at the National Institute of Public Health of
Mexico and is a National Researcher (
SNI) level 2. He works in
public health, including
epidemiology,
maternal and child health,
environmental health, and program
impact evaluation. Lamadrid-Figueroa has also achieved success in
chess, particularly in the amateur circuit.
Lamadrid-Figueroa obtained a medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos in 2001, a Masters in Science degree in Epidemiology from Mexico's National Institute of Public Health in 2003, and a Doctorate in Science degree from the same institution in 2008. [1]
Lamadrid-Figueroa's work includes studies on maternal health, the impact of prenatal lead exposure, and the scope of Mendelian randomization in epidemiology. He has also contributed to research on the burden of cancer in Mexico.
