Hala Shukrallah ( Arabic: هالة شكر الله; born in 1954) is the former president of the Egyptian Constitution Party, [1] having succeeded Sayed Kassem as the party's leader. [2] She is the first Coptic woman to head an Egyptian political party. [3] As president of the Constitution Party, Hala Shukrallah had articulated as major goals the revitalization and expansion of the party, [4] as well as the achievement of revolutionary objectives, such as repeal of the protest law, [5] opposition to military domination of politics, [6] and freedom for political prisoners. [7] Her brother is Hani Shukrallah, [8] who was the founder of Ahram Online. [9]
