The locality is bounded to the south-east by the Condamine River. [3] The elevation ranges from 270 to 390 metres (890 to 1,280 ft) with lower land nearer the river and the higher land to the north. [3]
The land use is a mixture of grazing on native vegetation on the hilly land and growing crops on the flatter lower land. [3]
Fairy Meadow Road State School opened on 5 November 1915. It closed in 1919. [4] [5] It was on the northern side of Greenswamp Road (approx 26°48′33″S 150°24′54″E / 26.80917°S 150.41493°E). [6]
Green Swamp State School opened circa 1936. It closed in 1950. [7]
