LuJames Groover (born April 16, 2002) is an American professional baseball third basemen in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.
Groover started his career at Charlotte before transferring to NC State. In his lone season with Charlotte he batted with a .351 batting average with four homers and 14 doubles. [1] Groover's best season came in 2023 with the Wolfpack where he batted with a .976 OPS, he also racked up 13 home runs, and he was named Third Team All-ACC. Groover was also stellar in the NCAA Tournament, where je went 4-for-12 with two home runs in three regional games. [2] In 2022, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League. [3]
Groover was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2nd round, with the 48th overall selection, of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft. [4] [5] On July 18, 2023, Groover signed with the Diamondbacks. [6]
