George Jacob is an Indian museum designer. [1] He is the President & CEO of Bay Ecotarium in San Francisco. [2]
Jacob was born in Kochi, India. He attended the BITS Pilani for Bachelors in Museum Studies and continued in University of Toronto, graduating with a Masters of Museum Studies in 1996. [1] [3] In 2015, he became a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. [4]
In September 2014, he became the first president and CEO of the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum. In October 2016, Jacobs was let go due to financial difficulties. [5]
In 2018, he proposed a $260 million renovation of the Aquarium of the Bay into the Climate Resilience and Ocean Conservation Living Museum in San Francisco, with Jill Biden delivering the keynote. [6]
He serves on the Board of Directors of California Travel Association, [7] International Council of Museums (ICOM USA) and ICOM-ICTOP (International Committee on Training of Museum Professionals). [8]
