Garakan ( Persian: گركان) [a] is a village in, and the capital of, Garakan Rural District of the Central District of Ashtian County, Markazi province, Iran. [4]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 799 in 245 households. [5] The following census in 2011 counted 692 people in 232 households. [6] The 2016 census showed a population of 660 people in 221 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district. [2]
