The Fulgorinae [1] are a sub-family of insects in the Auchenorrhyncha: which include the spectacular "lantern-bugs" and allied insects.
Nine genera are currently listed by the NCBI, but molecular studies question the placement of genera in the Zannini, even questioning whether they belong to the family Fulgoridae. [2] The Hemiptera database [3] currently (August 2023) currently places all genera in this subfamily in two tribes:
Auth.: Latreille, 1807 (central and southern America)
Auth.: Haupt, 1929 (tropical Asia) (Synonym: Laternariini Distant, 1906 - unavailable, suppressed by ICZN ruling)
