Freydoun Malkom Khan ( Persian: فریدون ملکم خان, also Romanized Firidun; 25 December 1875 – 4 June 1954) was an Iranian fencer representing Qajar Iran ( Persia). He competed in the individual épée event at the 1900 Summer Olympics. [1] He is the first Iranian or Persian who participated in Olympics. Mozaffar ad-Din Shah Qajar granted him the royal title of Prince after his father, Mirza Malkam Khan offered a diamond ring to the Shah. [2]
