With regards to tagging this image {{ Non-free reduce}}: the reason why I uploaded the original image (as supplied by Alexander Turnbull Library) was that they issued me, amongst other things, the following instructions:

"In order to maintain the integrity of the Library's images, no manipulation of the image is allowed, for example, cropping, overprinting, or colourising an image. Writing, such as titles or underlying text, should not intrude on the image."
