Summary

Monumental brasses of wives of Thomas Baynham(d.1499/1500), Micheldean Church, Gloucestershire: (1)Margaret Hody (left) & (2)Alice Walwyn (right). See Transactions of the Bristol & Gloucestershire Archaeological Society, vol. 6, 1881-2, Maclean, Sir John, The History of the Manors of Dene Magna and Abenhall, and their Lords, pp.123-165. Line drawings of both wives shown as plates VII(Margaret Hody) & VIII(Alice Walwyn). These brasses were originally located in the north aisle but were affixed to the present painted wooden panel in the 19th.c. The brass of Sir Thomas Baynham, which would originally have been the central figure was lost before the 19th.c. (BGAS, vol.6, p.131, note 3)
