Summary

Description

(L–R) George Mitchell, Pat Doherty and Bertie Ahern.

Tony Blair, Bertie Ahern and George Mitchell were the guests of honour at a special Co-operation Ireland event organised by the charity’s chairman Christopher Moran to mark the 20th anniversary of the signing of The Agreement. Hosted by Pat Doherty at Titanic Hotel Belfast on Tuesday, April 10, the event brought together business leaders and supporters of the peace building charity.

Speaking after the event, Co-operation Ireland CEO Peter Sheridan said: “Both the former Prime Minister and former Taoiseach have been valued supporters of our work so we were delighted to be able to host them at Belfast’s Titanic Hotel. The presence of Senator Mitchell was an added bonus and enhanced what was a wonderful night. The contribution of the three men to the peace process is immeasurable and I am pleased that Co-operation Ireland is continuing to build on their work by engaging with the next generation to help them complete the task of securing a lasting peace.”
