Deutsch: Statuszeichen – „Spieß-Litzen“ oder „Spieß-Kolbenringe“ – für herausgehobenen Dienststellung oder Verwendung für dienstältere Feldwebeldienstgrade als Kompaniefeldwebel, umgangssprachlich auch „Mutter der Kompanie“ oder kurz „Spieß“, in Einheiten mit Kompaniestatus.
  • Ausführung: Zwei parallel verlaufende 10mm breite Unteroffizierslitzen, mit ca. 5mm Abstand zueinander, an beiden Ärmelaufschlägen von Uniformteilen, wie beispielsweise Dienstjacke, Paraderock oder Uniformmantel.
    • Wehrmacht 1938-1945: Hauptfeldwebel Heer, Luftwaffe und Küsteneinheiten Kriegsmarine; in der Regel Oberfeldwebel (OR-7) oder Feldwebel (OR-6)
    • Waffen-SSW 1938-1945: SS-Stabsscharführer; in der Regel SS-Hauptscharführer (OR-7) oder SS-Oberscharführer (OR-6)
Die doppelten Ärmeltressen kamen nach 1945 in Fortfall. Die Hauptfeldwebel der Nationalen Volksarmee (NVA) sowie die Hauptbootsleute der Volksmarine führten sie nicht! Deren Dienststellung machten stattdessen einfache Ärmeltressen kenntlich.

  • two ca. 9mm silver-grey diamond-woven rayon NCO braids (the so-called Spieß-Kolbenringe; en: pike piston rings) on both cuffs (of sleeves) on the uniform jacket. It was the indication of the military person as Hauptfeldwebel (in the meaning of company NCO of modern Bundeswehr).
  • It was the highest-ranking assignment to a Port-epee-NCO (comparable to NATO OR-7) of a company or equivalent military unit in Heer or Luftwaffe.
  • Nickname: Spieß (spear or pike) or Mutter der Kompanie (mother of the company).
  • The comparable assignment in the Waffen-SS was SS-Stabsscharführer.
