Description
English: Rosa Praed (1851 -1935) a novelist, generally know as Mrs. Campbell Praed, daughter of Thomas Lodge Murray-Prior. she was born at Bungroopin Station on the Logan River, Qld., on 27 March 1851. She was educated in Brisbane and during her childhood developed an interest in writing. In 1872 she married Arthur Campbell Mackworth Praed, and lived for a short time on Curtis Island, off Gladstone, Qld. The sojourn was turned to literary account in her first book, An Australian Heroine (1880) as well as in The Romance of a Station (1889) and her last novel Sister Sorrow (1916).
