English: AWM caption : "THE GERMAN RAIDER "KOMET" WHICH OPERATED WITH SUCCESS IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN (WHERE SHE SANK ALLIED MERCHANT SHIPPING AND SHELLED THE PHOSPHATE LOADING PLANT AT NAURU), AND IN THE INDIAN OCEAN AND THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS. THE "KOMET", STARTING A SECOND CRUISE IN 1942-10, AFTER HER RETURN TO GERMANY, WAS SUNK BY BRITISH DESTROYERS OFF CAPE DE LA HAGUE."
