Villa Berg, unteres Vestibül, nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg: Stuttgart, Städtisches Lapidarium, heute: Stuttgart,
Staatsgalerie, Rotunde (als Leihgabe des Städtischen Lapidariums). Erhaltungszustand: gut, jedoch fehlt ein Glied an einem Finger, Absplitterung an der Plinthe, Schwärzungen.
Die Moabiterin Ruth zog nach dem Tod ihres jüdischen Mannes aus Moab nach Israel und arbeitete dort als Ährenleserin bei einem Verwandten ihres Manns. Die Statue zeigt Ruth, wie sie Ähren sammelt und in einer Gewandfalte birgt. Ruth wird als junge Frau in antiken Kleidern und mit Kopftuch dargestellt. Den Blick wendet sie aufmerksam zum Boden, wo sie die aufzulesenden Ähren findet. |
