Description
English: Swedish Gevär m/1939 (Karabiner 98k) in caliber 8x57mmIS. They were intended as low cost light anti-armor rifles using armor-piercing ammunition, but proved unsatisfactory and were soon rechambered for the much more powerful Swedish machine gun caliber 8x63mm with the new designation Gevär m/1940. Which was also a short-lived experiment. From the collections of Armémuseum (Swedish Army Museum), Stockholm, Sweden.
