Alsergrund. Das Liechtensteinsche Sommer(Garten)palais ließ
Fürst Hans Adam I. von Liechtenstein errichten. Es entstand in zwei Bauphasen. In der ersten wurde das Palais von 1691 bis 1694 nach Plänen von
Domenico Egidio Rossi errichtet. Nach einigen Abänderungen des vorhandenen Bauwerkes wurde von 1700 bis 1705/06 das Palais nach Plänen von
Domenico Martinelli fertiggestellt. Die Innenausstattung erfolgte von 1704 bis 1709 und die Errichtung der Nebengebäude von 1705 bis 1711. Ursprünglich war nordseitig ein Pavillon, dieser wurde von 1873 bis 1875 durch ein von
Heinrich Ferstel errichtetes Gartenpalais für die Fürstenwitwe ersetzt.
