Summary

Description
English: This is a color composite image of the star V1400 Centauri (the bright orange star in the center), taken by the 4.0-meter Blanco Telescope's Dark Energy Camera (DECam) at Cerro Tololo Observatory in Chile. This color composite consists of four monochoromatic images (exposure times 50 s), each taken in different filters from visible to near-infrared wavelengths. From longest to shortest wavelength, the filters are: z (850-1002 nm), i (710-857 nm), r (568-716 nm), and g (398-548 nm). These images were taken in May 2021, during the Blanco Telescope's Dark Energy Survey. This image covers a 1.23 x 1.23 arcminute area, and is oriented such that north is up and east is left.

Each monochromatic image was digitally tinted with the following color scheme (with color hex codes): z = red (FF0000), i = orange (FE5500), r = green (5BEB13), g = blue (002AFD). Then the images were additively stacked together to create the image composite.

The raw DECam images used for this composite were downloaded from the Legacy Surveys DR10 Data table, which sources its DECam images from NOIRLab's Astro Data Archive. The specific exposures used are: decam 997449 N4 i, decam 997448 N4 g, decam 996356 N4 r, and decam 1001975 N4 z.
