Description
English: Plas Llanfair This was one the homes of the Paget family, also owners of Plas Newydd. Plas Llanfair housed the TS Indefatigable between 1944 and 1995. The column on the right celebrates the career of Field Marshall Henry Paget, the first Marquis of Anglesey, who was second in command to Wellington at Waterloo. During the battle he was wounded. He is reported to have said to Wellington 'By Jove, Sir, I've lost my leg'. The Iron Duke glancing over replied 'By jove, Sir, so you have'.
