Oranjestad, Aruba, has a new, free
streetcar/trolley (tram) service. It has open, battery-powered cars. The line runs from the cruise ship port on Caya Betico Croes (now renamed Main Street), a shopping street which runs diagonally inland. That street was turned into a pedestrian area, dedicated to the trolley. The line was ceremonially opened at the end of 2012, but not begin regular operation until February 2013.
