Summary

Mental disorder diagnosis can be bases on many criteria. First option is to have clear categories when every disorder have its own class. Second option is to have one dimension when symptoms can be between two opposite end. Third option is to have two-dimensional diagnostic tool, i.e. four quadrants. Fourth option is to have several (>3) dimensions overlapping and that it is harder to describe. In this picture idea is that multiple dimension lines are crossed with one diagnostic line and the combination of crossing points is basis for a diagnosis.
