Description
English: The major objective of the Airship Technology program is to design and produce a lighter-than-air High Altitude Airship (HAA) prototype to demonstrate the feasibility and potential military utility of an unmanned, untethered, gas-filled solar-powered airship. The prototype airship and support facility will become part of the BMDS Test Bed following its successful demonstration in 2006 and will be used for communications, weather/environmental monitoring, missile warning, and target surveillance/acquisition.
