English: Down Christmas Parcels train at Didcot with unusual locomotive
View eastward, towards Reading and Paddington: ex-GWR London - Reading - Swindon etc. main line. The train is headed by one of the Churchward '4700' class 2-8-0s normally employed at night on fast freight trains, No. 4703 (built 3/22, withdrawn 5/64). The signals show the branching for trains towards Oxford by the loop connecting with the Avoiding Line from Didcot East Junction.
