Eisenach, St.-Georgen-Kirche, Kanzel, Altar Zentralbild TBD-(Wittig) 23.3.1954 11 Motive Bachehrung 1954 in der Wartburgstadt Eisenach. Der 269. Geburtstag des grossen Meisters der deutschen Musik, Johann Sebastian Bach, wurde in seiner Geburtsstadt Eisenach feierlich begangen. An der diesjährigen Bachehrung in Eisenach nahmen zum ersten Mal nach 1950 wieder viele westdeutsche Gäste teil. Die Pflege des alten nationalen Kulturerbes, und hier besonders der Bach'schen Musik, kam in den Konzerten des Bach-Chores in der Georgenkirche, der Taufkirche von J.S. Bach, zum Ausdruck. Auch die "Arbeitsgemeinschaft für alte Musik" und der Madrigalchor sowie die Landeskapelle trugen zum Gelingen dieser festlichen Tage besonders bei. UBz: Blick in das Kircheninnere der Georgenkirche in Eisenach, in der J.S. Bach am 23.3.1685 getauft wurde.
