Summary

Description A U.S. Navy Douglas A-4C Skyhawk (BuNo 148587) from Attack Squadron VA-64 "Black Lancers" flying in the Caribbean near Cuba. VA-64 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 7 (CVW-7) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence (CVA-62), barely visible below, for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 30 April 1968 to 27 January 1969. After another short cruise aboard Independence to the North Atlantic in September-October 1969, VA-64 was disestablished on 7 November 1969.
