Ford had been producing factory made pickup trucks since 1925.
The F-100 was restyled in 1961, the fourth generation (1961-66) More refined, sleeker and slightly wider, windshield posts moved back for better vision and bigger pickup bed.
2 types of pickup were available; the traditional separate-fender body was called FlareSide, while the smooth-sided look was known as StyleSide.
1961, the Styleside body was now integrated into the cab. F.O.R.D in the grille.
1962, very similar grille, but F.O.R.D gone, non integrated cab available again.
1963, turn signals still within the grille, grille now got six by four horizontal bars.
1964, grille now a complex grid design, the integrated cab eliminated
1965, turn signals moved above the grille, new grille a basic grid pattern. New 352 FE V8.
1966, few changes, a new more complex grille.
Models available were; 1/2 ton F-100, 3/4 ton F-250 and 1 ton F-350.
Engines; 139hp 223 cu in 6 cyl or 171hp, 186hp 292 cu in Y replaced by the 240 and 300cu in 6s and 208hp 352 FE V8 in 1965.
